5 Cool Products You Can Make With A 3D Printer

You’ve all seen the recent media coverage of the 3D printing revolution, so you should know a thing or two about how these devices work. I have to admit, that I’m frankly astounded by the sheer amount of applications this new technology has. For the most part, 3D printers seem to have the ability to create almost any product without the need for human interaction, which is pretty futuristic and space age if you ask me. That said; there’s still a long way to go before these contraptions can be relied upon completely, but all indications show we should have mastered the technique within the next couple of years.

I’ve written this post today in the hope of drumming up some more attention and perhaps even educating a few of you about why 3D printing is so important. With that in mind, if you’re interested in learning about some of the cool product already in production using this new technology, give me your full attention fro a couple of minutes, and I’ll do my best to blow your mind. Companies like Opti Graphics are currently leading the way in this field, but with so much interest, new specialist firms are appearing on the scene daily.

1 – Working Rifles And Handguns

Now, I realise most people have no desire to own either a rifle or a handgun, but considering how many different parts make up these weapons, I think it’s amazing that we can now create them perfectly using 3D printing technology.

2 – Acoustic Guitars

A few hundred years ago, anyone who made an acoustic guitar had to spend the best part of a year chipping away at large pieces of wood in the hope of creating the perfect tone. Thanks to 3D printing this old method is now obsolete. With some machines able to produce an entire guitar in less than an hour, it does make you wonder how traditional manufacturers will compete.

3 – Medical Models

It’s usually far too expensive for medical schools to keep real human skellingtons, and so they previously had to pay staggering amounts for high quality replicas of bones and limbs. This is no longer the case, as 3D printers are able to create items to their specifications for a fraction of the cost in no time whatsoever.

4 – Phone Cases

If you own the new iPhone, you can now purchase cases online made by 3D printing machines. Although they’re currently a little more expensive than some of the budget options, they’re definitely worth it, as they’re more durable and less likely to break upon impact due to the seamless design.

5 – Tea & Coffee Cups

Making mugs and cups with 3D printers is simple because they have no moving parts. This means we could soon see the end to older methods of production. There are a couple of companies who’ve been making these for a while now, and all testimonials and reviews seem positive. As I just mentioned, the seamless design 3D printing allows means that items will become more durable.

Well folks, now you’ve read about some of the coolest products currently in production using this new method of printing, I wonder if you’ll feel inclined to place an order and see what all the fuss is about? I know I will.

See you next time!
