The Most Anticipated Video Games Of 2014

Super Smash Bros. With the release of the Xbox One and PS4, as well as the continued popularity of the 3DS and WiiU, 2014 looks to be another great year for all fans of video games.  If you are wondering what games you should be saving for this year, we have you covered as we look at 5 of the most anticipated game releases of the year.

Super Smash Bros. 3DS/ WiiU

One of the staples of Nintendo releases is the Super Smash Bros games, ever since the first was released for the Nintendo 64.  It takes the template of Street Fighter and Tekken and pits all your favourite Nintendo game characters against each other.  With every new console there has been an updated and improved version of this game and it will be interesting to see what Nintendo do with it to make the most of the 3DS and WiiU consoles.

The Evil Within

The Evil Within looks set to be one of the scariest releases of the year and is a must for all fans of the horror game genre.  The game has been designed and produced by Shinji Mikami, who has been behind some of the genre’s best survival based horror games, including the original Resident Evil.  There is not much known about this game so far, but judging by the trailers it will be a hide behind the sofa game.

Infamous: Second Son

Infamous: Second Son is the third instalment of the hugely inventive and popular superhero video game series Infamous.  This looks likely to be one of the big releases for the PS4 in 2014 and will continue the good or bad storyline with the addition of an open world gameplay style.  A great broadband connection, like the one offered here, is a must for this game.

Destiny is the new game created and developed by Bungie – yes, the same team who brought the world Halo and its various sequels.  Destiny takes the ideas of Halo to a whole other level.  The graphics from screenshots and trailers look like they will take full advantage of the cutting edge technology of the Xbox and as Halo was always best when played with friends and strangers using the multiplayer option, Destiny will likely be best experienced in that way too.

This is the game that has been on the lips of most people in the gaming world ever since it was debuted at E3 last year and has already won a ton of awards.  Titanfall is the latest game from the team behind the Call of Duty series, so you just have to imagine what a futuristic Call Of Duty would be like to know that this game is one that shouldn’t be missed.

While we are sure that 2014 will be a great year for games with many other great releases not mentioned above, the 5 that we have chosen should definitely be at the top of everyone’s must buy lists.
